Backlog

Park an idea without losing it; harvest the backlog when the next planning window opens. Ideas not promoted to the roadmap yet — each with its age and the trigger that would revive it. Lives at .claude/brain/backlog.md.

What it does for you

A graveyard with vital signs. Each parked idea names why it's parked and what would unblock it — a vendor that has to release something, a persona that has to grow, a metric that has to move. Re-reading is fast; resurrecting is intentional.
Keeps the roadmap honest.Without a backlog, every drive-by idea lands on the roadmap and clogs it. With one, “park it” is a real verb — the idea isn't lost, it's pending its trigger.
Ages give you a culling signal.Anything past two quarters with the trigger unmet gets a delete-or-promote review. Old ideas in a backlog rot faster than people think.

Configure

Nothing — hand-edit the markdown. Add the date when parking; name the trigger explicitly. No trigger, no parking.

Use it well

Open Backlog at the start of every planning window — anything whose trigger fired since the last window gets promoted to the roadmap; anything aged past two quarters with the trigger unmet gets deleted or rewritten. The backlog earns its existence by getting smaller, not larger.
